New Video from Empty Sea

We have some great new videos from our recent performance at Empty Sea Studios, here’s a brand new song called “The Contract” that we premiered at Jazz Alley in September.  This one was based on a traditional tune “Fayinkunko” but significantly reimagined and transformed into something new.  It’s one of the pieces that will be on our next album which we’ll be recording in the fall of 2013.  Stay tuned for more!  Meanwhile, hope you enjoy:

Salem, Seattle, Olympia this weekend!

We had a great time at Jazz Alley last month, it was a pleasure to play at this well-established and amazing venue for almost 600 people!  As I mentioned in an earlier post, we're about to take some time off from performing to work on a new commission from Chamber Music America which we'll be premiering next year. CMA New Works Grant!

We here at the Kora Band are very excited to announce that Andrew has been awarded a 2012 New Jazz Works grant from Chamber Music America.  This grant is for commissioning, performing, and recording a new multi-movement work for the Kora Band over the next few years.  Needless to say, we are all very excited about this wonderful opportunity and →

Cafe Solstice Saturday 2/11

Olympia, Portland next weekend!
